EKO was developed by Liberty Development Corporation and completed in 2008. Building records we reviewed describe it as a 15-storey condominium with 313 suites, registered as York Region Condominium Corporation No. 1128.

As a resale building with well over a decade of operating history, EKO lets buyers review the corporation's status certificate, reserve fund study and recent board decisions before committing, something that isn't possible with pre-construction. Because the building was first occupied before November 2018, units rented out here fall under Ontario's annual rent increase guideline, a point investors will want to factor into their plans.

Unionville High School (York Region District School Board) is at 201 Town Centre Boulevard, next to the Civic Centre, and is home to the Arts Unionville program. Coledale Public School is on Coledale Road, and St. Justin Martyr Catholic Elementary School is at 140 Hollingham Road.
